Consumer Reports put Wendy’s claim of lowered transfat in their french fries to the test. Guess what we found? You guessed it — transfat and lots of it.
Following Wendy’s announcement that they had all but eliminated transfat from their french fries, Consumer Reports bought fries from three different stores in Westchester Country, New York. Prior to the announcement Wendy’s fries contained 5 – 7 grams of transfats. Wendy’s claimed its “healthier” fries contained 0.5 grams. Consumers Reports tests found 2.5 grams of transfat per serving. Go to Consumer Reports Online to read all about it.
Maybe Consumer Reports can do the next test in Louisiana — I’m itching to use the lead “Busted fat in Baton Rouge.”
