Will you take action for GMO labeling?
By Consumers Union on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012
Got a minute to make a few calls for a good cause this weekend?
As part of the Yes on 37 campaign, we’re helping spread the word on behalf of our California coalition partners who are looking for volunteers to get out the vote on Prop 37 before Election Day. Prop 37 would require foods containing genetically modified ingredients (GMOs) to be labeled so consumers can make informed choices at the grocery store.
Corporations like Monsanto, DuPont and other large food processors and chemical companies have dumped millions into confusing voters with a misinformation campaign. One of the best ways to get the truth out is one phone call at a time.
Make sure Californians know what’s at stake. Besides casting your own vote (if you live in California), calling voters is the most important action you can take to help pass Prop 37. And making the calls is easy!
Our partners will provide you with a call script, go through a quick training, and connect you to our online phone banking system that will dial for you. And you can participate from the comfort of your own home, or join one of many phone banking sessions across the state.
With the help of committed volunteers like you, California can pass the first U.S. initiative to label GMO food. We have a right to know what’s in our food, and how it’s grown, whether or not big pesticide corporations agree.
Thank you for standing with us!
