End Robocalls Campaign on KSDK-St. Louis’s Five on Your Side

Your End Robocalls campaign keeps picking up fantastic press coverage. This week, the KSDK-St. Louis’s Five On Your Side released a great piece on the End Robocalls campaign, interviewing End Robocalls campaign manager Tim Marvin and featuring a Missouri consumer affected by unwanted calls, Sarah Yancy.
Even though Sarah signed up for the Dot No Call Registry, she still receives unwanted calls almost every day. Sarah says, “It seemed nearly daily I got the call with the same very distractive voice that would say ‘hello seniors’.” Still, she was unable to stop the calls: “It happened over and over and over again. I thought what am I going to do to stop this?”
Consumers Union’s Tim Marvin pointed out why robocalls are so common – and why law enforcement approaches aren’t sufficient to address the robocall problem: “You might get a call from a scammer in Jamaica one time, then the next it’s a scammer in eastern Europe. It’s the same recording, but they pass it along like a bad penny,” said Marvin.
This piece highlights why it’s so important that consumers have free access to easy-to-use tools that can automatically block unwanted robocalls. Join the more than 600,000 consumers who make up the campaign to End Robocalls, and help us create a future without annoying and harmful robocalls.
