UPCOMING EVENT: End Robocalls Petition Delivery in Dallas Tomorrow!
Public Policy Fellow
Consumers are gearing up to send a big message to AT&T: It’s time to stop robocalls!
Over 600,000 consumers have signed our petition to the top phone companies asking them to end robocalls. We’ve already delivered petitions to Verizon and CenturyLink. Now, Consumers Union activists will deliver these petition signatures right to AT&T executives.
Join us and make your voice heard! The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 at noon, at AT&T’s headquarters in downtown Dallas, TX (202 S. Akard Street).
It’s important to keep up the pressure, as your campaign to end robocalls is having some real impact. Last month, in a major victory for consumers, Time Warner Cable agreed to offer the call-blocking service Nomorobo to its customers for free. TWC customers can now sign up for Nomorobo right through their customer portals. Nomorobo founder Aaron Foss reports that over 8,300 TWC customers signed up in the first month alone.
We’d love to see AT&T follow TWC’s example and offer a free tool like Nomorobo (or something similar) right to their customers. Thanks to the help of consumers like you, we’re confident we can make this a reality.
