When a robocalls interrupts my work, it’s a hassle. But when a robocall disturbs Carol, a crisis consultant from Atlanta, the disruption is much worse than the irritation I feel. Here’s Carol’s story:

I am a crisis consultant, working within the “Headline Events” like the Atlanta Day Trader Shooting, NYC after 911, and Oklahoma City after the bombing of the Federal Building.  Of course most of the situations in which I’m involved are not nationally recognized, but they’re extremely important. 

There have been times when I’ve been on the phone with a distressed person who had been a victim of a crime or a terrible accident and other times, speaking with someone who was threatening violence, when a solicitation call interrupted.
