JohnWhen you sign up and pay for phone service, the expectation is that you’ll be able to use it. But many have reported that robocalls make them feel like their phone is not their own.

John’s phone service is regularly disrupted by robocalls; his family is looking to End Robocalls so that they are not imperiled by a call from a robot:

About a year ago I needed to make a call, but, just as I was about to pick up the phone, it rang. I answered and it was a robocall. I was “ticked” to say the least, so I hung up and immediately picked up the phone to make my call.

But, the robocall was still going. I hung up again and picked up only to hear the robocall still going. It did not stop until the robocall computer was finished.

It dawned on me that had my call been a real emergency I would have been you-know-what out of luck. I have checked these calls since then, and they are still controlling my phone line.

I am 76 and my wife is 75 and we have had to deal with some emergencies. I know that having a phone is a convenience, but it is also our primary emergency connection which should never be able to be usurped like that.

You shouldn’t have to wait for a robot to stop using your phone in order to use it.  Together we can persuade the phone companies to offer free tools to consumers to block robocalls. Join the movement here.
