Maureen Mahoney is a Public Policy Fellow in Consumers Union’s San Francisco office. She conducts research, blogs, and works on story development for a number of issues, with a particular focus on credit reporting and “Gimmicks and Gotchas.” In April 2014, she authored the policy brief “Errors and Gotchas: How Credit Report Errors and Unreliable Credit Scores Hurt Consumers.” She received an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Chicago.
