Congress spent the summer trying to pass a spate of bills that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act and upended access to healthcare for millions of Americans.
We won the last round, in July, but the fight is not over! Yet another attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act and dismantle Medicaid—the Senate’s Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson bill—is likely heading for a full vote next week.
This bill would gut consumer protections, especially for those with lower incomes or pre-existing conditions. It would also raise costs by 20% within a year; eliminate subsidies for consumers; and dismantle Medicaid as we know it over the next several years. An estimated 32 million more Americans would be uninsured by 2027.
We cannot let this bill pass! Call 1.844.311.1880 and follow the prompts to tell your Senators to oppose the Cassidy-Graham healthcare bill. Ask them instead to pursue bipartisan solutions to strengthen the health insurance market and address rising healthcare costs.
