A strong security freeze law would give every Montana consumer a low cost, easy-to-use way to restrict access to his or her consumer reporting file when that consumer is not seeking use it. Consumers Union has endorsed the Montana Attorney General’s security freeze proposal, which permits only a $3 one time administrative fee and a lost PIN fee.
