Bah humbug! It seems like every holiday season, we hear about crooks stealing consumers’ payment card data. This year is no different. Krebs on Security reports that skimmers – devices that steal private info at the point of sale – were found at a number of Safeway stores in California and Colorado. While that’s a bad thing, consumers are largely protected from direct losses due to federal laws limiting liability. But that doesn’t mean folks won’t be losing sleep. If you’ve shopped anywhere that you worry may have put your payment card information in peril, see this infographic for what to do next.
