After a decade of relative stability, drug costs are set to increase dramatically over the coming years. Increased reliance on high-cost specialty drugs and lower savings from generics will significantly increase overall drug spending and drive up premiums and cost sharing for consumers. States and the federal government are looking at a variety of approaches to provide relief to consumers.
