On Tuesday, Obama held a meeting with key Democratic Senators and they “agreed they should give Republicans only until mid-September to get behind the plan.”

However, at the same meeting, President Obama said that Senate Democrats should keep working with their Republican counterparts as best they can to get a bipartisan healthcare reform bill passed.

In addition, Obama, “vowed to respond to Republican attacks on his plan, which aims to guarantee insurance for all Americans while slowing the explosive growth of health costs.”
