Recently we asked if 2013 was going to a breakout year for mobile payments. While there is still plenty of year to go, one company’s customers appear to have embraced mobile payments: Starbucks.

The coffee giant has the largest retail mobile payment platform in the U.S. Each week, U.S. customers generate over three million U.S. mobile payment transactions its cafes. Starbucks’ primary mobile payments platform is its mobile app, launched in 2011.

In addition to its app, Starbucks has partnered with mobile payments processor Square. Starbucks stores sell the  Square reader for $10. With the reader, anyone can accept credit card payments via mobile phone.

We’re working to stay on top of the evolving mobile landscape and want to hear from you. Have you made a mobile payment at Starbucks or anywhere else? What was your experience? If you have not, why not?  Share your story!
