Karim is a third-year law student working full-time as a Legal Fellow in Consumers Union’s San Francisco office. He joined CU as a Public Policy Intern in 2015, and currently assists CU’s expert staff attorneys with research, fact-checking, and bluebook citations. Karim’s primary interests are in improving financial literacy in low-income communities and developing sensible marketplace regulations that allow consumers to make informed financial decisions. Prior to becoming a Legal Fellow in 2016, Karim held internships at a Los Angeles bankruptcy court and at the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, DC.
