Matt is a campaign strategist with a deep and abiding interest in using technology and storytelling to support people-powered movements. His recent work has ranged from leading product development on Here Now Squared, a social listening tool for climate campaigners, to projecting a visualization of 100% renewable energy onto the Eiffel Tower for the Paris Climate Talks. Previously, as Attention Lab Director at Upwell, Matt led the organization’s “big listening” social analytics practice to help make his client, the ocean, more famous on the internet. In 2009 he led grassroots communications for 350.org as they coordinated what CNN called, “the most widespread day of political action in the planet’s history.” He is an Americorps Public Allies alumnus, a Startingbloc Social Innovation Fellow, and trail-builder and crew leader with Volunteers for Outdoor California. The Guardian once called him ‘wickedly funny and evidence-based” but they didn’t know it was him.
